We’re grateful to be able to celebrate Father’s Day this weekend. We’ve been blessed with many amazing men in our lives and we love the occasion to celebrate them! Since we don’t live near most of them, we’d like to pay tribute to them by sharing their favorite treats with all of you. If they were with us, these are dishes that would most likely be requested. Keep in mind, these healthy, naturally sweetened treats are all (sugar-loving) men approved!
We have to honor our Dad with his favorite first: Snickers! He loves Snicker Bars and these homemade candies are naturally sweet and perhaps, even more decadent. Plus, shhh… they’re vegan.
There’s no way we could skip Chocolate Chip Cookies in a list. We can say that these have turned “natural sweetener haters” towards natural baking. We’ve made them for our husbands and in-laws and everyone seems to love them!
Annie’s Vanilla Ice Cream is a crowd pleaser because it’s a traditional vanilla-rich ice cream that goes well with everything. Annie’s husband loves it best with his most favorite dessert ever….
Naturally Sweet Apple Pie! This pie is one of the most delicious naturally sweetened desserts ever.
Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream are really delicious! Annie made this recipe for Chelsea’s birthday and Chelsea has remade them a few times at our Dad’s request. In the words of our Dad, they are “totally righteous”.
It’s a funny fact that our mom does NOT like banana bread. So when we see our Dad, we like to make this Vegan Banana Bread just for him.
Ina Garten’s Lemon Bars are one of the first recipes we made naturally sweet and they have quickly become a frequently requested recipe by a few men in our family. They are so good during a summer afternoon.
It’s safe to say that all the guys in our family love chocolate chip goodies. Holly’s husband Chris especially likes these Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bars! Bonus, these things are no-bake and can be made vegan!
Natural Black & White Chocolate Cake is a birthday tradition for Annie’s husband, Travis. Even though Annie doesn’t make it naturally sweet for him every year (baby steps!) he was totally surprised when she remade this favorite cake and it tasted so much like the original.
Homemade Naturally Sweet Cinnamon Rolls are well, well loved by a few men in our family. The dough can be made the night before for easy rolling and assembling the next morning, OR, assemble completely the night before and bake away on the morning you need them.
Sugar-Free Ginger Cookies are one of our brother Ben’s favorites. He loves ginger flavored everything and these cookies use fresh and ground ginger for great spice.
Annie made these Halfway Cookie Bars one night when the family was together and the pan was gone by the time she blinked. Ben and Travis may have been (mostly) responsible.
Lastly, the guys in our family love carrot cake! This Healthy Carrot Cake is a recipe from our mom and one she makes often for our Dad for his birthday or other anniversaries.
To our Dad, Father-In-Laws, Brothers & Husbands – We love you guys! Happy Father’s Day!
