We’ve been melting in the triple digits over here and there is no sign of give. Summer may be the season we all look forward to each year, but this kind of heat can be tiring. You probably need a cool berry drink right about now. So could we!
Luckily, frozen berries are the perfect ingredient to help us cool down and enjoy the season. The Oregon Raspberry & Blackberry Commission (ORBC) reached out to us a few weeks ago asking if we’d like to share a summer berry recipe using their delicious frozen berries. We love berries so we couldn’t say no to the invitation! We are excited to share a fruit smoothie with you using these ripe, juicy berries!
When you check out these berries, you really could open up a bag and just dive in! Basically nature’s candy! But if you’re in the mood for a dreamy berry bliss smoothie, let’s get to it! Two kinds of berries and a bit of maca powder gives this smoothie a fantastic fresh taste. We love the bright color of this raspberry and blackberry smoothie! The maca powder adds a hearty boost of vitamin C and an extra creamy, malty flavor without changing the vibrant pink color. Enjoy this simplistically delicious smoothie and see how refreshing it is during the next heat wave. Perhaps try using Oregon Berries while you’re at it. Check out farmers in your area or look for the Stahlbush Island Farms brand. You’ll be in for treat!
