We may have the best news of all time. We’ve made candida donuts for you! How would you feel to know you’re allowed to eat warm, soft baked donuts while staying true to the candida diet?!
The hardest part about the candida diet is not being able to feed our sugar monsters. Obviously, that’s the goal with the candida diet but that doesn’t mean we can’t feed our emotional monsters. Simple things like grains and dairy can contribute to the sugar growth so even making sugar-free desserts aren’t always candida friendly. We can change that with this recipe! The hardest part about this recipe is getting your hands on a donut pan. A donut pan makes this recipe ultra healthy and simple. We picked up this one here. We baked these in a well-oiled pan and it created fantastic results.
Our candida-friendly ingredients like eggs, cinnamon and xylitol keep these donuts sugar-free and even Paleo-friendly! Eggs particularly are really good to eat while on the candida diet and in this recipe, they double act for our binding and leavening agent!
The outcome are the sweetest cake donuts. While they probably look like a bakery style donut more than they actually taste, they are the most delicious treat you’ll sink your teeth into when doing a candida cleanse. Nothing can beat them warm from the oven! They are sweet enough to satisfy those sugar cravings but not overly sweet that you can’t enjoy them for breakfast or a healthful snack. Their soft cake like texture is so comforting and so good when nice and warm. Roll them in cinnamon and xylitol and you’re good to go. Happy candida killing!

Some of us cannot eat eggs. Can you suggest a substitute that works?

These look amazing! I wonder if my 24 hour dairy yogurt would work the same? I’m working on an anti candida diet to fit my son’s needs and maybe increase development and reduce sensory processing disorder. I do make coconut kefir but that’s not thick enough. I have read that you shouldn’t have too many flour products, even coconut flour to reduce the yeast. But we all have a sweet tooth, got to have some pastries!

How is this sugar free when your using that yogurt? Its filled with add cane syrup, which is sugar. Am i missing a different yogurt that is sugar free?
Natural Sweet Recipes says
Hi Samantha, there are many unsweetened yogurts available that work great for this recipe! Greek yogurt is my favorite and you can find it at any grocery store.

Hi! What could I use to replace the eggs that would still be Candida friendly? Thanks so much!

Do you have any suggestions for a substitute for the coconut yogurt? I need something dairy free and our grocery store does not carry this. Thanks.
Natural Sweet Recipes says
Brooke, you could try the thick white portion of chilled coconut milk (the cream part) but I have no idea if that will work since I haven’t tried it. Good luck!!

I’m allergic to egg yolks, can I just use egg whites??

Great recipe! One question though: you say to mix together the first five ingredients, which includes the sweetener, but then you say to use the sweetener on top. So do you both include xylitol in the recipe and as a topping? How much in each?
Thanks!

Please add 2 Tablespoons of xylitol for the top. Thank you for the comment! :) Hope you enjoy!

Oh my God. Just made these as cookies, with stevia, because I didn’t have a doughnut pan or xylitol. I mixed the stevia/cinnamon topping with some butter to make a glaze that would stick to the cookies. They are AMAZING. Best dessert I’ve had by far during my 2 months on the Candida diet, hands down. Thank you SO much for providing this recipe! ?? I can’t stop eating them, I’m almost afraid I’ll gain back all the weight I’ve lost since starting this diet! ?
