Did you know it’s National Sister Day? August 4th! Now that we know about this sister day, we have to post about it because we love our sisters!
Since Holly lives in L.A., Annie lives in Utah and Chelsea is bouncing between D.C. with our parents and going to school out west, there isn’t a whole lot of time we actually spend together. That doesn’t create a whole lot of time and it can be tough to build relationships with your sisters when you live hundreds of miles from them. A few years ago, we decided to do something about this. What could we do to connect us?
Blogging!
Blogging about the things we love has helped us build a stronger relationship with each other because it has united us in something we are all passionate about. We’ve bonded over blogging by it’s ability to let us hear more from each other, work on similar projects, define our love of baking and lead us all to better health. It’s amazing how technology has helped narrow that distance gap all through discussing, researching, writing and baking healthy recipes! If you can’t always juggle schedules to talk on the phone or even visit with your sisters, find something that works for you! What do you share in common with your sisters? We also love being able to catch up through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Thank goodness for modern technology!
Of course, when we do get to visit, that’s when we have the most fun.
Some of the most fun we have together is in the kitchen! We love getting together to test recipes and make yummy treats for us and our families. Baking up a storm and then eating our creations is probably what we do best. :)
Have you ever wondered what our favorite desserts are to make? What do the sisters behind this blog like best?
Our favorite recipes to make together are Homemade One Hour Dinner Rolls because we all help roll out those little dough balls. We like making both healthy and semi-healthy chocolate chip cookies because we can’t get enough of the dough. And we love Chocolate Sugar Cookies because they are a twist on a classic recipe from our childhood.
What are our favorite things to eat?
Chelsea: MY favorite recipe from the blog is Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting! Annie knew this would be the perfect recipe for me!
Annie: I realized my favorite treat right now is something versatile! I like Healthy Nutella in crepes, on toast or just on it’s own!
Holly: I can only choose one?! Our most frequent made recipe around here is probably Carrot Cookies! We like them baked or just eating the batter right out of the bowl!
Please tell us! How do you stay connected to your sister(s)? Are you lucky enough to live close by them or do you need to get creative like us? We hope you will celebrate with them today (or brothers, if YOU’RE the sister :)) and have a happy Sunday!

Good grief. All of you are stunning. I have no sister, so know I know this absolutely: All of you are so thoroughly blessed to have each other—even though it may not seem like that sometimes.

Such cute photos! Those favorite picks look delicious, too. I unfortunately don’t have a sister.
