We’re back from travels and have adjusted to our time zone (mostly) and it’s time to get back to healthy eating and recipe sharing! Before we dive back into the kitchen, can I share my travel highlights with you?
We’ll start with Amsterdam. We flew into Amsterdam where we began our adventures. Amsterdam is stylish and tranquil. It’s a beautiful city with lovely canals, mature green trees and charming architecture.
We ventured up to North Holland for a day trip. The Dutch know how to live near the coast! They know how to eat goat cheese and chocolate. They know how to be happy and enjoy life. God bless them.
We made a pit stop in Germany for the Nurburgring for Travis (of course) and loved it. It was dream come true for Travis. Then on to Bavaria, Germany. Bavaria is like a fairytale. Bavaria is the home to castles and magic and real-life enchanted forests.
The Neuschwanstein castle is worth visiting!
We then headed to beautiful Switzerland.
We stayed in charming Lucern first. We stayed in the heart of the city but close distance to the old town area. What a dream!
Bachmann’s is a Swiss bakery that has fresh baked breads, pastries, tarts and French macarons. The veggie quiche was so good! Bonus: you’ll find them all around the city and everything is reasonably priced.
On the outskirts of the city, in a green sanctuary is The Dying Lion. It was truly moving.
Zurich was lovely. We didn’t spend much time here, but our time was well spent. The river and churches are beautiful! We loved the restaurant Turm by Tony. The outside eating area in a little courtyard is warm and inviting.
Order the grilled vegetable plate with guacamole. You won’t regret it. It will change your world! It’s flavorful and delicious and just amazing enough for my tough hubby to steal bites! The caesar salad was also delicious.
You can’t go to Switzerland without heading into the Interlaken area. Wengen, Grindlewald, Murren are all musts. We did a lot of hiking to enjoy these beautiful areas.
We then ended the trip with a visit to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn.
In between eating pastries and goat cheese, I was able to find healthy granola/fruit/nut bars to snack on during train rides and hikes up the Swiss Alps. This Nakd bar was delicious!
The beauty there is unreal. There’s no place so stunning or breathtaking. Those mountains are serious and we couldn’t get enough of them.
This Euro trip was fueled by train rides, chocolates and more picture taking than you care to know about.
Thanks for letting me share my travels. Hope this beauty makes you smile! More sweet treats coming at you later this week! XO

Gorgeous pictures! I know it’s been a bit since this trip, but may I ask you how long it was? My sisters and I want to do something similar and we’re wondering how much time we should plan for. Thanks in advance!

Beautiful pictures! It sounds like you had a blast! I’ve been to Amsterdam a bunch of times for work, and I always find it to be a charming city. I’ve been to Germany, but never to the area of Bavaria, and Switzerland is definitely on my list of places to visit! Aren’t the mountains insane?! When I vacationed in Austria I couldn’t stop staring at them… so massive and gorgeous!

Oh my goodness! I am so jealous of these travels. Is travel a priority for you guys or does it have to do with your husbands work? It seems like you were in Europe recently, that’s why I’m wondering!

We did do a cruise last year. My husband works for a great company that allows us to travel. We’ve had some great trips and are super grateful that we can do this right now!
