Okay, just kidding… it’s not quite time for pies, stuffing and hot buttered rolls. You know you have leftover candy bars in the house and I needed an excuse to make this. Get ’em out cause we’re going out with a blizzard bang.
When I opened up my freezer for the chilling portion for these Homemade Butterfingers, I saw a lovely tub of homemade vanilla bean ice cream. I put the two together and tried not to inhale the sweet ice cream potion in front of me.
I used my homemade ice cream because I had it on hand. But feel free to use a traditional ice cream recipe, your favorite vanilla ice cream or store bought!
Whatever you decide to do, just do it. Make this and try not to face plant your whole head into it’s creamy, yet crunchy, very vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, toffee goodness. After you do that, then we can get to pie.
(And time is running out, so make this quick!)
Butterfinger Blizzards (vegan and gluten free)
Print Recipe
2/3-3/4 cup Crushed Butterfingers (I used these healthier butterfingers)
3 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
Add the butterfingers into a blender or food processor and pulse until your desired crushed consistency. I like actual little clumps of candy so I don’t pulse for too long. Add the ice cream and pulse until just combined or alternatively, just mix in with a large spoon. Pour into large glasses and enjoy!
Serves 6-8 blizzards

How is this vegan when you used ice cream? Is it a special vegan ice cream made out of almond milk?
Annie says
Hi Sarah, the ice cream that we used is our homemade vegan ice cream recipe. It’s uses coconut milk. Here is the link from the post :http://www.naturalsweetrecipes.com/vegan-vanilla-bean-ice-cream/

I’m not usually a fan of butterfingers but healthier version mixed w/ ice cream? Yeah, I could get on board with that! Great photos, too!

THat’s good. :) They make a really great pair!

I think this is the best possible use of a butterfinger ever. I’m not sure I would’ve been able to resist inhaling this and then immediately making a second one to savor ;-)

It was really good! Though anything with butterfinger is good to me!
