Sugar-Free September has officially ended. Congratulations! Are you ready to dive into a pint of Ben and Jerry’s?
We truly do hope this challenge has changed your sugar eating habits for the better! Did this challenge impact you, your family or friends? Did it inspire healthy changes in your life? 30 days of sugar-free is really the perfect amount of time to reboot and refocus. It’s just long enough to figure out how dependent on sugar we are and gives us enough time to set some changes in motion.
What changes did you see happen this month? We got back to delicious, healthy foods! Pictured above is plain greek yogurt with a bit of xylitol and fresh strawberries. This is nature’s ice cream! We also snacked on hummus, raw veggies and almond milk. We rediscovered old favorite treats from past challenges and came up with a few new favorites as well. We have shared a few thoughts on the benefits of sugar-free eating from past challenges that you can read here. We love challenges because just like everyone else, our diets are not perfect. But choosing to omit, decline and even resist sugar for extended periods of time allows us to make wise, conscious choices.
The challenge is over, what now? You hopefully have seen that saying no to sugar gets easier. Sugar-free living just becomes apart of your normal routine! When you do eat sugar, it will be a conscious choice, in smaller qualities for things that you truly love! The bottom line is that WE need to be in control of the sugar we eat. We hope this challenge has helped you gain back the control over cravings or addictions. If you want to share your Sugar-Free September experience with us, we’d be thrilled to hear how it went!
Low sugar recipes were our focus this last month to help keep sugar cravings at bay. Now that October is here, it’s our job to keep up the healthy desserts but in a more decadent way! We’re entering the time of year that deserves all the best, sweetest, gooiest, crunchiest, chewiest, goodies. We’ve missed baking up chocolate cakes and creamy caramels! Let’s get wild this month. Stock up on coconut sugar and maple syrup. You’re going to need it!
Before we dive into the decadence of the holidays, let’s ease out of our health challenge with something extra nutritious! Extra delicious and full of autumn vibes. We’ll be back in a few days to share a favorite healthy recipe. See you then!
