Christmas is coming upon us and while we may feel hurried getting ready for it, this season is about treating each other well. That includes ourselves! It’s time for serenity, giving thanks and nourishing our bodies and minds. It’s a wonderful time for healthy chocolate smoothies with a festive twist.
Since we’re extra busy this time of year, let’s keep it simple. This is where mint chocolate meets protein and greens. A green smoothie wouldn’t be complete without lots of fresh, raw greens. So, there’s a full cup of dark leafy greens (including a bit of fresh mint if you have it!) in this smoothie. This minted vegan protein-rich shake is full of all good things to keep you healthy and vibrant this holiday season.
Only 7 simple ingredients are whirled together for a nutritious meal/dessert/breakfast! This delicious minty drink is sure to get you through any pre-holiday angst. Certainly we can toast to health and the happy holidays ahead!
Mint Chocolate Green Smoothie
1 1/2 cups Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk
1/2 Large Frozen Banana
1 cup lightly packed Mixed Baby Greens (Kale, Spinach.. you could throw in a couple mint leaves)
1/2 teaspoon Liquid Stevia
3 Tablespoons Chocolate Protein Powder
1/2 cup Ice
1/4 teaspoon Mint Extract or 1-2 drops Mint or Peppermint Essential Oil
Add all the ingredients in a high powdered blender and blend until creamy and frothy. Pour into two glasses and enjoy!
